About Me

Hi, my name is Jamie , I attend school in Boulder, Colorado. I love to be active and be outdoors. As a competitive athlete, with a big sweet tooth, I struggled to find foods that wouldn’t hurt my performances, and that also tasted good.After looking around at healthy food blogs online, I began to find recipes that satisfied my cravings, while at the same time being much healthier than my other options. These blogs inspired me to start experimenting in the kitchen and making my own recipes. Many of the recipes I found online, though delicious, were sometimes time consuming. As a student athlete, time is not something that I have a lot of, so when creating my own recipes, simplicity and quickness are two things I focus a lot on. A lot of my recipes will feature natural sugars as opposed to classic refined sugar. Natural sugars are much less addictive, have many nutritional benefits, and are more filling than refined sugar (which are essentially empty calories). Though natural sugar still needs to be consumed in modest amounts, it is much better than eating many of our every-day foods, desserts, and drinks that are packed with refined sugar. My goal is to make foods that are quick, easy, healthy, full of protein, and that can often be taken on the go, so that I don’t have to run hungry. 🙂
